The Choral Society’s Singing Group began its autumn season with a swing, performing Drunken Sailor, Ho-La-Hi and Consider Yourself, from the musical Oliver, to enthusiastic residents at Park Side View assisted living home in Jersey Farm on 3 October.
Sixteen volunteers from the choir, under the direction of Ali Burroughes, entertained residents with these and other songs and poems in the modern and spacious top floor lounge. The arrangement of Consider Yourself was written by Frank Guest and accompanied by Tony Bralant.
The group will put on three more performances during October at Milton House, Fosse House and Beaumonds, including their first rendition of Edelweiss, and there will be two carol performances in December.
Any choir member interested in joining the group would be very welcome and should contact organiser Sarah Cowper. The next set of rehearsals will start in January.
