The Choral Society has expressed its gratitude to Alison Debenham, who stepped down as General Secretary after nine years at the Choir’s AGM on 20 September.

Alison, who also served 15 years on the Committee, was presented with a bouquet of roses and a bottle of her favourite Prosecco.

Chair Colin Dunkerley paid tribute to her diligence and conscientious service, including producing minutes at astonishing speed. He praised her enterprise in starting annual choral workshops with Scott Inglis-Kidger and introducing the first concert sponsors.

Colin told the meeting that the choir was in a good position, with flourishing membership and sound finances. He highlighted the hard work of the committee and other choir volunteers.

Deputy Mayor of St Albans, Cllr Brian Gibbard, attended the AGM and said he was very impressed by the professional manner in which the choir was run.
