Long-standing Choral Society member Claire Heard (Browne) is moving to Suffolk, and the Choir marked her departure with leaving gifts and a card at a small, socially distanced gathering kindly hosted by her friend and fellow soprano Alison Shipperlee.
Claire is pictured above, centre, with Alison and (L to R) Richard Harvey, the Choir’s accompanist, Colin Dunkerley, Chair, and George Vass, Music Director.
Handing over copies of the photo-books prepared for the 75th Anniversary, Colin said Claire had been the life and soul of the Choir during her 15-year membership, taking part in every aspect of Choir life with extraordinary energy, enthusiasm and good humour.
She was a much valued, model member who had volunteered to help at almost every event, and ensured that rehearsal tea breaks were always properly provisioned. Her vivacious and energetic duos at Choir socials with Alison Shipperlee and Alison Debenham would live long in the memory.
Claire will be missed by her many friends in the Choir but she has promised to support our future concerts. We wish her all the best in her new home.
