The Choral Society raised a terrific total of £2,096 for our two chosen charities over the Christmas period with carols in St Albans Cathedral and an online Christmas quiz and social event.

The donations were £1,120 for the Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted, and £976 for Centre 33, which supports homeless and disadvantaged people in St Albans.

The money was given via collections at the Cathedral rehearsals, where we wore face coverings and sang at the requisite distance from each other, and via online donations. We recorded four carols in the Cathedral and these were uploaded to this website and our Facebook page for our supporters to enjoy.

The charity total, achieved despite these difficult circumstances, compares favourably with the amount raised from members and friends at Christmas 2019 through our live concert and carol-singing at the station.

Thank you to everyone who contributed!
